In ancient Greek Mythology, Nereids were said to be beautiful and benevolent young maidens frolicking in the sea waves helping the sailors and fishermen who were lost or in distress. To me, this Nereid I painted is the daughter of sea, a harbinger of tranquillity and good fortune as the world confronts the agony and despair inflicted by the pandemic.
Life is a full circle replete with ups and downs, happiness and sadness. What we sow is what we reap. Let’s then stay strongly rooted to the ground so that life could touch the sky.
which is partially hidden and partially evident is more beautiful than what’s obvious. And if it’s covered under the veil of stars, heavens will bestow on one who sees her. Hypnotic may I say?
